In the forest
This is a way to enjoy a wonderful landscape from the top of the mountain (El Cerro de las Tres Cruces). When entering the forest that is on the edge of the mountain you can feel in connection with nature. Throughout the road you will breathe pure air, in addition to touring a path that was traveled by the Indians of the region (Camino de los indios).
Place: On the main street until you reach the cable car
Journey Time:3 hours (round trip).
Type: Uncovered road and mountain.
What to wear?: Long pants and comfortable shoes.
What to take with you: Water, camera, sunblock and mosquito repellent.
Recomendation: Go with a guide since it is a path into the forest and if you do not know it you can get lost.
Instructions: Leaving the hostel, you walk along the main street right until you reach the hill. You will pass the first cable car station, continue walking; It is a steep path but you can climb up (when you are up you will realize that it was worth it). On the way you will see El Gran Mirador Hostel, follow the road, 40 minutes away from there, you will find a division, turn right up the steep hill, look for the second cable car station; Once you are there you can see Las Tres Cruces, going up on the left you will find a path that will take you to a small forest which you will cross and it will take you to walk on the top of the mountain.
This path is known as "El Camino de los Indios"; when you leave this path you will see the road, always walk to the right looking to return to the urban area of Buenavista.
